RAYMOND, IL - Marilyn Kay (Rosenthal) Barto, 69, of Raymond, passed away November 22, 2020, at 4:50 a.m. at Parkview Tower, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St Louis, Missouri of Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 27, 2020, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hough Funeral Home in Raymond, Illinois. Family funeral services will be on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at St. Raymond's Catholic Church in Raymond. Burial will be in St. Raymond's Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on March 26, 1951 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of Shirlen and Mary (Krager) Rosenthal. She graduated from Lincolnwood High School in 1969. Marilyn married John Robert Barto on June 5, 1971, in Raymond and he survives.
Marilyn attended Eastern Illinois University and later was employed by the State of Illlinois, Country Companies Insurance and retired from Horace Mann Insurance in 2017. She was a member of St. Raymond's Catholic Church, St. Raymond's Council of Catholic Women, and Home Extension/Connections for over 45 years. She was a past officer of the Raymond-Harvel Sports Association and Lincolnwood Athletic Boosters.
Marilyn is survived by three sons, Brian (Shonda) Barto of Philo, IL, Kevin (Katie) Barto of Lemont, IL and Jason (Alyssa) Barto of Spring Hill, TN. Four granddaughters, Annabelle Barto, Spring Hill, TN and Koralyn, Konnelly, and Keslia Barto of Lemont, IL.
Six step grandchildren, Skye Mahaffey, Canyon (Mylissa) Mahaffey, Montana Mahaffey, Harley (Brody) Smith and Lexy Mahaffey, Alexis (Justin) Brown and six step great-grandchildren, Kruz and Harleigh West, Lylah and Olyvia Mahaffey, Stella Smith, and Stockton Brown. She is survived by one brother, Dennis (Julia) Rosenthal of Raymond and many nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Mary, and brothers Thomas Lee and Larry Joseph Rosenthal.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to St. Raymond's Cemetery or Siteman Cancer Institute.
IDPH Tier 3 mediation will be followed, including use of masks and social distancing.
