Marlene “Molly” Walker passed peacefully in her home under the care of her family and the support of Suncoast Hospice, on June 1, 2022, in St Petersburg, Florida.
Molly was born on August 3, 1931, in Litchfield, Illinois, to the late Ned and Fern Bockewitz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ned Allen Bockewitz.
Molly obtained her Bachelor of Music Education from Illinois Wesleyan College and became the first music teacher for the Raymond High School music program.
Molly married her beloved husband, William (Bill) Walker, in 1954 and were blessed with four children. Molly and Bill would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on July 10, 2022.
After moving to St. Petersburg in 1962, Molly and her husband began serving as soloists for First Presbyterian Church and continued to do so for over 20 years. They sang with the Florida Gulfcoast Symphony, under Irwin Hoffman and Molly presented many vocal programs with her dear friend, Mary Alice Harley, during her years as a singer.
Molly was also a respected and valued Real Estate Agent for over 30 years, assisting many families in finding their perfecthomes.
Molly is survived by her husband, William E. Walker, her children, Pam (Rick) Caruthers, Cindi (Jeff) Marko, Bruce (Lenore) Walker, and Debbie Walker. She leaves behind four granddaughters, Kelly (Ken) Maier, Alana (Adam) Williams, Kristyn (Shawn) Van Lengen, and Elise (Richard) Santora, and five great grandsons, Chace, Sawyer, Nolan, Colton, and Cooper. She is also survived by her sister, Lolita “Lee” Johnson of Raymond, Illinois, and her nieces, Rise Croenne of Raymond, Illinois, and Traci Bockewitz Reed of Tuscola, Illinois, her nephews, Todd Walker of Anaheim, California and Brad Bockewitz of Tuscola, Illinois, and a multitude of grand nieces and nephews..
