She was born the daughter of Elmer and Charlotte Wilson Holmes in Farina, IL on December 10, 1933. She was a longstanding member of the Methodist Church, enjoyed golfing and Cardinal Baseball and also was a member of the Eastern Star.
She attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education and also met the love of her life, Bill Reineke. They were later married in Farina on December 23, 1956.
She went on to student teach and after taking time off to start a family, she accepted a teaching position at Lincolnwood High School in Raymond, where she taught business classes for 26 years. During that time she received her Masters Degree in Education from SIU-E in Edwardsville.
Mary Lee retired from teaching in 1992 from the Panhandle School District and for the next few years she worked at Alice Campbell Temporary Employment Agency. When she wasn't working she was spending time attending her grandchildren's many activities. During the winter months, Mary Lee and Bill were snowbirds spending their time in Florida.
She is survived by three daughters Linda (Chuck) Bullard of Morrisonville, Cindy (Dan) Beeler of Taylorville, and Nancy (Joe) Asma of Waukegan, IL, also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is survived by one sister Beverly Brown of Casey, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother John Holmes.
Memorials may be left to A Community of Faith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at a Community of Faith Church at 101 Belle Street in Raymond from 10 am until 11 am,
Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 11 am with Tom Mulch officiating, Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond, IL.
