Richard D. Cole Sr.

Richard Dean Cole Sr., 75, of Hillsboro passed away June 7, 2022 surrounded by loved ones at his residence.

He was born on May 7, 1947 in Decatur IL to Lawrence and Gertrude (Nichols) Cole.

­­­He married Ruby George and she preceded him in death.

Richard worked at ADM in Decatur.

He is survived by his children Richard D. (Mary) Cole Jr. of Witt, Tina Cole of Gillespie, and a grandson, who he raised, Shane Cole of Litchfield. Richard is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister, Frances Mayberry of Witt. His beloved dog Layla also survives him.

Richard was preceded in death by his daughter Sandra, who passed in infancy. He is also preceded by his parents and siblings Rosie, Sonny, Butch, Mildred, and Mary.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
