Robert Miles Harris, 56, of Hillsboro passed away March 1, 2023.
He was born February 2, 1967 in Hillsboro to his mother Linda Salsi Harris.
Miles graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1986. He was a member of the tennis team, the 1986 prom King and was always on the honor roll. He later obtained his real estate license and worked with Dunn’s Real Estate. Miles was employed at the Montgomery County Assessor’s Office since 2009 and also assisted at Everglo Neon. Miles helped Jeff Dunn with photographing thousands of headstones in Montgomery County Cemeteries, and he also assisted with projects for the Historical Society of Montgomery County IL. Miles enjoyed being with family and friends and spending time outdoors where he loved fishing, gardening and mushroom hunting. He had a love for astronomy, was an avid tennis player, culinary genius and an inventive bartender. Miles was always a familiar face on Main Street in Hillsboro and is described by all who knew him, as the kindest man ever.
He is survived by his mother Linda Salsi Harris and one aunt and hundreds of friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be Monday March 6, 2023, from 5-7 P.M. at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Funeral services will be Tuesday March 7, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Kevin Simburger officiating.
Burial will be in Cress Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro.
