Robert Eugene House

Robert Eugene House age 83, formally of Raymonnd, passed away on Thursday October 15, 2020, at his home in Laguna Beach, California. He was 83 years old, born July 10, 1937 in Litchfield Illinois the son of Willis Rex and Ruth Whitlow House. He is survived by his loving wife Rosa Valenzuela House; his daughter, Leslie House; his grandchildren Amanda Huff, Rex Huff, Luke Huff, Diamond Williams and Ryan Ruston, and his great-grandson Aaron Ruston. Also surviving are many cousins in this area. Sadly, besides his parents, his youngest daughter Cindy preceded him in 2013.
Robert graduated from Raymond High School and attended his 60th class reunion; and most recently, he met with his classmates to celebrate their 80 th birthdays. He received his BA degree from Wesleyan Illinois University. Robert played pro baseball with the Chicago White Sox Organization.
He was a successful, self-made businessman who owned and operated two corporations. He enjoyed playing basketball until he was 75 years old with friends that called him Bobby. Robert and Rosa enjoyed traveling and enjoyed their second home in Mexico. He was a big fan of the Boston Celtics and the St. Louis Cardinals and traveled all over the country to a lot of their games.
Throughout his life, Robert enjoyed the fruits of his labor. Unfortunately, in his later days his quality of life slowly diminished due to complications with Parkinson's. Robert said he wanted two things to happen when his time ran out, so his loving wife did everything necessary to make them happen.
One, was to leave this world in his beautiful home overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the other was to return to Raymond where he would be laid to rest next to his parents. Graveside services in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, November 7, 2020.
