Ronald Eaton

Ronald Eaton Jr.60 of Taylor Springs formerly of Litchfield passed away at his residence on Nov. 19, 2021.

He was born in Granite City IL on Sept 24, 1961 to Ronald and Patsy (Smith) Eaton Sr.

He was a graduate of Granite City High in 1979 and received an associate’s degree in business management.

He served in the US Navy from 1979-1989, He managed at various restaurants and convenience stores, was an over the road truck driver from 1991-2001, he served as president and superintendent of Montgomery County Veterans Assistance Commission and was a retail merchandiser since 2007. He was an ordained minister.

He was a member of the American Legion post #701 in Waggoner IL and past division commander-sons of the American legion.

He married Tena Collins on Aug. 18, 2017 and she survives along with six children Cherie McBride on Granite City, Ryan McBride of Denver Co., Ronald Eaton of Nokomis, Marvin Parsons of Kaufman TX, Ashley Collins of Morton IL and Kenneth Collins of Litchfield, eight grandchildren Calvin and Emma Eaton, Chase Cotton and Ezekiel Smith, Shirley, Nikki, Codie Montgomery and Ian Mackey, two sisters Ruth Kent of AZ, and Debra Feenstra of Granite City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Michelle Montgomery and one brother Michael Bird and one sister Pam Lewis.

Memorials can be directed to the American Cancer Society.
