Rosalie (Scott) Stewart, age 84, of Litchfield, passed away January 12, 2025, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Rosalie was born on August 6, 1940, in Sharpsburg, Illinois to her parents Horace and Hettie (Crain) Scott.
She spent many years as a waitress for several local restaurants, such as the White Cottage in Raymond and the Ariston in Litchfield, but her last and most cherished waitressing position was at her daughter’s café that she named after her, Rosie’s Café in Raymond. Rosalie also spent time working at the grocery store in Raymond but her favorite job of all was making memories with her family. She loved nothing more than to spend time with those she cared for.
Although her work life consisted of waitressing, Rosalie knew how to cook an amazing meal for her family, but most memorably is her sweet potatoes. Rosalie had a passion for cooking a delicious meal, a strong love for her family, and a special place in her heart for her beloved kitty Snoopy.
Rosalie married her husband Alex Stewart on August 30, 1976, in Hillsboro, Illinois, and he survives her.
Rosalie is survived by her loving Husband Alex of Litchfield, her Children Lonnie Jackson of Gillespie, Lori Jackson of Litchfield, Michael “Mike” (Missy) Jackson of Litchfield, Mark (Toni) Stewart of Carlinville, and Greg Stewart of Carlinville, her Grandchildren Josh Stewart, Andy (Sadie) Jackson, Stephanie (Brad) Jackson, Ashley (Mike) Mitts, Teagan (Riley) Jackson, Alex (Raylynn) Jackson, Kayla Jarden, Darren Jarden, Jeremy (Meaghan) Stewart, Amanda Porter, Joshua Stewart, Jess Stewart, McKenzie Stewart, Charlie Stewart, Alyse (Devon) Stewart-Fix, and Shannon Stewart, 20 Great-Grandchildren, her Siblings Joyce (Wayne) Williams of Moline, Illinois, Tammy (Steve Webb) Pate of Waggoner, and Jeanette Scott of Pawnee.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her Parents, her Son Timothy Stewart, her Siblings, Charlie Scott, Harold Scott, Loretta Harris, and Betty Willman, and a son-in-law Dan Doyle.
Memorials in Rosalie’s memory may be directed to the family.
