Ross A. Walch

Ross A. Walch 66 of Hillsboro passed away Dec.3, 2022 at Hillsboro Area Hospital.

Ross was born in Hillsboro IL on March 27, 1956 to Leroy and Joan (Worthington) Walch.

He was a graduate of Witt High School in 1974 and later attended LLCC.

He retired from Walch Electric in Raymond and helped Larry Lewis on his farm. He was a member of the Litchfield Moose, Nokomis Sportsmen’s and he loved to trap shoot and hunt. He enjoyed bowling and playing darts. He loved to fish at the Niehaus farm. He had monthly gatherings with his cousins. He thought the world of all his kids and grandkids. He recently began golfing. He enjoyed helping with the Boy Scouts and riding his Harley. He passed away on his mother’s 85th birthday.

He married Dottie Herman on Aug 28, 1974 and she survives along with his daughters Tara (Rick) Arkebauer of Hillsboro, Tami (Adam) White of Greenfield and Allison (Robert) Patterson of Fairview Heights, grandchildren Paige, Dom and Zak White of Greenfield, Levi Arkebauer of Hillsboro and Cooper and Cera Patterson of Fairview Heights, Brothers Darrell (Cheri) Walch of Champaign and Jerry (Amy) Walch of Newman, brother in law Denny (Maria) Herman of Hillsboro, many nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends Laura & Al Lemme and John, Shannon, J.T. and Cody Boerckel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws John and Doris Herman.

Memorials can be directed to the American Heart Association or Wares Grove Cemetery.

Funeral services will be Saturday Dec. 10, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Brian Gruen officiating.

A visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 until service time and friends are encouraged to dress casual and wear Camo or Harley clothing.

Burial will be in Wares Grove Cemetery in Butler.
