Royanne Ruth (Reed) Loucks, 87, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation in Taylor Springs, IL.
Royanne was born May 10th, 1938, in Minneapolis, MN, to Richard and Sonja (Solstad) Reed. She graduated from high school in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota.
Royanne married Clarence Alva Loucks in Minneapolis on October 22, 1960, and he survives. They recently had their 65th anniversary.
Before and after marriage, Royanne did secretarial work for the United States Government and private firms. Supporting her husband's FDA career, they lived in Minneapolis, New Orleans, Cherry Hill, N.J. and Rockville, MD, before retiring to their farm near Hillsboro.
Among Mrs. Loucks' most beloved and appreciated activities was doing huge amounts of Christmas baking, especially items reflecting her Norwegian heritage. She also enjoyed playing the piano and sewing.
Mrs. Loucks is survived by her husband, by daughter Laura Quinn, granddaughter Haley Nail, grandsons Bobby Quinn, Austin Quinn, and Kyle Nail, also her great-grandchildren, Abigail, Heidi, Dashiel, Ruth, and Callaghan Quinn.
A private family graveside service at Clear Springs Cemetery, rural Hillsboro, is planned.
