Sandra (Broaddus) Carron, 72 of Raymond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all, passed away peacefully in early morning of September 25, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital. Sandra, “Sis,” was surrounded by her loving family, spouse, children, in-laws and out-laws, brothers, and family. Mick, Sally, Rick, Dana, and Sandy were inseparable until the end. Sandra grew up in Raymond, IL, daughter to George and Helen (Ragland) Broaddus. Growing up a Broaddus meant family was everything. John and Sandy married at the United Methodist Church on October 15, 1972. Sandra was employed for 50+ years as a “hair-burner” and bus driver for Panhandle #2 School District for 25 years, where she cherished her school age friends, pre-k to high school. The Panhandle students of all ages adored Mrs. Sandy. Sandra loved playing Bingo, having fun with her cousins, socializing with the Lincolnwood Class of 1970, playing Mrs. Claus, and watching ballgames, especially the ones that involved her grandchildren or the Lincolnwood Lancers. Sandra was well known for her larger-than-life personality, bright smile and warm hugs, and was a proud breast cancer survivor. “Sis” never met a stranger and there was never a dull moment when she was around. Sandra leaves a legacy in the Panhandle community as a “FRONT ROW ROOTER”, #1 LANCER fan, and was always known to give you a good “ZOOOP” to say hello.
Sandra is survived by her husband John Carron of Raymond, daughter Jacquelyn (Wendell) Weatherford of Butler, son Jeremy (Jennifer) Carron of Harvel, son Jeff (Amber) Carron of Raymond, 5 grandchildren, Jaylynne, Jocelynne, Jesse, Brooklynn, Jordynne, and a bonus grandson Justin Weatherford, brother Mick (Sally) Broaddus and niece Lindsay Pope and family, brother Rick (Dana) Broaddus and nephew Nathan and a clan of extended family members. Sandra is preceded in death by son Joseph and parents George and Helen Broaddus.
Memorials in Sandra’s honor may be made out to the family’s choice.
