Terry Wayne Mayfield age 79 of Raymond passed away at Sunrise Manor in Virden on December 6 at 4:40am. He was born Oct. 13, 1943 in Nilwood IL; the son of, Marlyn and Vivian (Cain) Mayfield and Paul "Mac" Felmet.
He was a 1961 graduate of Girard High School and in 1962 graduated from National Barber College in Springfield.
He was a well-known Raymond businessman where he owned and operated the Ye Old Barber Shop in Raymond for over 46 years. He was a member of the Raymond Baptist Church where he had served as Deacon, Treasurer and Clerk. He had served in the past as a Trustee on the Raymond Village Board and past member of the Raymond-Harvel Fire Department and Raymond-Harvel Ambulance Service. He was involved with the Waggoner Play entertaining hundreds with his wit for many years. He was a member of the Morrisonville Masonic lodge 681 and ANSAR Shrine.
Terry was an avid bowler and had bowled a perfect 300 game during bowling leagues for the 1st National Bank of Raymond Team. He was also an avid Cardinal Baseball Fan.
He married Kay Manship they later divorced, He then married Margaret (Buff) Garrison and she survives.
He is survived by; a son Marlyn Mayfield of Auburn, one daughter, Angie Greenwalt of
Buffalo, two step daughters Denise Nichols of Virden and Renee Wendt of Carlinville, 6
grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 2 great granddaughters and 7 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James Mayfield and one half-brother
Darrell Felmet in 1969.
Services for Terry will be held on Monday December 12, 2022 at Noon at the Raymond Baptist Church in Raymond, Visitation will be from 10am until the time of the service with Pastor Ron Butler officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Raymond Baptist Church. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond.
