Wayne A. Bondurant 83 of Hillsboro passed away Dec 3, 2021at HSHS St. Johns Hospital in Springfield.
He was born in Hillsboro on June 28, 1938 in Hillsboro IL to Jesse and Gladys Bondurant.
He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. He worked at Traylor Furniture in Hillsboro and from 1975-2005 he and his wife owned their own dental tech lab.
He served in the US Navy as a medic in the Great Lakes region and Hawaii. He was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro and Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge and Shriners.
He Married Ermilie “Erm” Bone on July 17, 1959. She preceded him on Feb. 4, 2011.
He is survived by one son Jay (Companion Barb) Bondurant of Witt and one grandson Dane (Kayleigh) Bondurant of Witt and one great granddaughter Mabry Bondurant and one sister Rosemary Bondurant Voyles of Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Erm.
Memorials can be directed to the Alzheimer’s association.
A Memorial service will be Friday Dec.10 2021 at 12:00 PM at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro; visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM until service time, with Rev. Randy Sands officiating.
Burial and military rites by the Irving American Legion Post 425 will be conducted at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of arrangements.
