Melbourene “Jackie” Spears Chumley 103 of Coffeen passed away Feb. 20, 2017 at Nokomis Rehabilitation and Health care center.
She was born Nov. 26, 1913 in Rural Bond County to Levi and Nellie (Harrison) Spears.
She was a homemaker, and had owned and operated a restaurant in Coffeen during the 50’s.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, collecting dolls and had raised foster children.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter day saints in Litchfield and a past member of the Chapman Ladies Aide.
She married Newell Chumley on June 3, 1942 and he preceded her in death April 6, 2002.
She is survived by one daughter Judy Frerk of Witt and one son Joe Chumley of Conway ARK., 9 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren and one Great-Great-Great grandchild. She is survived by one sister Betty McBride of Bethany IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband two grandchildren Tina Hervol and Stacey Snider and one great great-granddaughter Breezy Romero, one daughter in law Tommie Chumley, 6 brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will be Sunday Feb 26, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Lonnie Bruce officiating.
Visitation will begin from 11:00 A.M. until service time all at Hough & Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Memorials can be made to Quad City Hospice or Paws Care.
Burial will be in Shiloh cemetery in Coffeen.
