Dear Louise - I was so sorry to read of the passing of another good neighbor. So often I chatted with Mel when hiking around our neighborhood and his main concern was always for you. Now he has preceded you, but I'm sure you have many happy memories to help you through the years until you join him in eternal happiness. ..

Louise and family, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you. Melvin was very special to us; he told many stories of him and the Lentz boys growing up in East Hillsboro. We were in Jim Hefley's Sunday School class together for many years; especially remember the Christmas parties. What joyous and wonderful times we shared! We had every intention of attending his service, but was unable to do so. Someday we'll meet again at the feet of Jesus! Much love to all!

My sincere sympathy goes out to Melvin's family for their loss!
Being a truly good neighbor to my dad and the Hillsboro community, Melvin
inspired and encouraged many with his friendliness and stories. He will be remembered as 'one of the good guys.'
God Bless him.

I worked with Melvind at Eagle Picher Company for ten years and got to know Melvin at that time. He was a very kind person always helping others and great personality. I was sad to hear of his passing away but I rejoice that he had a long life surrounded by so many loving family members. Although you will be missed the lasting memories that you created will never be missed. I send my sincere condolences to his wife and children and extende family.

So very sorry for your loss. Melvin was one of mom's last cousins that I know of. She will be in St. John's starting Tuesday for her heart valve replacement so won't be able to make the visitation or funeral but our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

My mother Alice (Hall) Fahl, deceased January 2011, was a first cousin to Melvin. Her mother Eva (Bramel) Hall O'Neill was Melvin's mother's sister. My sympathy to the family especially at this time of year. May he rest in peace.
